Child-Free Summer

Camp is only 3 months away, and you already know what your kids are doing, but have you given any thought to what you might do while your kids are away at Silver Lake this summer?
We’ve thought about it a bit, and here are some ideas of things you can do to make the most of your child-free summer:
•Go out for dinner – anywhere you want.
• See a movie.  Your choice!
• Start shopping for the stuff you are bringing for visiting day (and make a plan for how it’s all going to fit in the car).
• Invite some friends over without having to clean all of the toys off the chairs and couches.
• Go away for a weekend – or even a whole week.
• Hog the Wii.  Seriously, no one will know (until they see that you’ve broken all their records).
• Two words: date night.
• Make sure all of your phone calls are marked in your calendar.  You don’t want to miss one of those.
• Go to an amusement park and ride the rides you want to ride.
• Fold all the laundry and put it away, you won’t have to see it again for some time.
• Use your computer for as long as you want, nobody needs it for homework.
• Go to all the summer parties – you don’t need a babysitter!
• Write letters, real ones, with pens and paper, and send them to your kids.  Make sure they don’t forget that you think about them all the time.
• Go out for ice cream.  Order your favorite flavor.  Enjoy every last lick.
• Nap.  You deserve it.
